Welcome to Durham University Badminton Club

Badminton at Durham University is enjoyed by players of all standards, from social clubs in the colleges right up to competitive inter-university competitions played by the elite squad. DUBadC oversees all badminton played at the university and often gets involved with other clubs within the local community. Whatever your interest, there will be an opportunity for you to play badminton during your time at Durham.

COVID-19 AND DURHAM UNIVERSITY BADMINTON

Due to the current situation, the academic year of 2020-21 will be different to previous years.

We are lucky to still have the opportunity to play when the year starts. This will, however, be with reduced numbers on court and extra precautionary measures. University matches will only take place in Epiphany (second) term, meaning there will be less chance to play competitively in Michaelmas term and throughout the year in general. We are committed to normalize this year as much as possible, possibly arranging activities with other sports clubs, and organizing events between colleges and Durham County badminton.

There is still a lot of uncertainty - please keep an eye out on our Facebook for the latest updates: https://www.facebook.com/DurhamUniversityBadmintonClub/

For any questions, you can send a message to our Facebook page, or email our exec members (see contact details below).

Are you interested in playing badminton for the University?

**DUE TO COVID-19 THERE WILL BE NO PRESEASON THIS YEAR (2020-21)**

Preseason is the first port of call for new players interested in joining the squad. This consists of two weeks of badminton and social activities with the current elite squad the week before Freshers week.
